What you need to know to keep your jewelry shining

Solid Gold and Sterling Silver

Wear it. Love it. But care for it! Solid Gold and Silver can handle life—but they're not invincible. Remove your jewelry before swimming, hot tubs, and around chemicals. If you don't mind some character on your jewelry then WEAR wherever—it's not going to turn pink, babes. Natural oils in your skin keep jewelry sparkling enough.

*I do not use plated or 'filled' metal. No surprises here.

Silver may tarnish when stored near moisture and gets especially ick left hanging around perfumes and lotions. Polish it with a soft cloth (or a silver-specific one) and store in a dry, tarnish-resistant pouch or jewelry box... honey, even a plastic bag is better than the bathroom drawer.

Little tip: Toss a piece of white chalk or a silica packet in with your silver—it helps keep things dry and shiny

Do:

Store in a cloth pouch or soft-lined box. Give it a gentle wipe after wear.

Don't:

Leave it near your perfume, or pile it in a dish with keys and coins. Ouch.

Gemstones

I only use natural gemstones—carefully sourced and thoughtfully selected. Each stone is unique, just like you, and that means it deserves a little attention.

If your piece contains opals, turquoise, or pearls, treat them gently. These stones are softer and don't enjoy roughhousing.

Diamonds, sapphires, and more are here for a hard time… In general, avoid hard knocks, extreme temps, and harsh cleaners. When in doubt: take it off before your wild adventures.

Australian Opals

Solid Australian opals are low-maintenance beauties. They're not fazed by water and won't fog up or change color when wet. You can gently clean them with warm water, a bit of soap, and a soft toothbrush.
