Made by hand in solid sterling silver, the bow shackle is a charm holder, chain connector, and a multi functional staple.

Designed with intention and flared at the top mimicking classic reliable maritime hardware the flared bow shackle is used on boats to rig sails, anchors, nets, lines, and chains of all sorts.

Here it's made for the way we have been wearing necklaces lately, the bow shackle will hold rings, charms, it can turn necklaces into bracelets, and connect chains, pearls and charms, making it perfect for layering dressing up or down and looking amazing all on its own.

Best paired with chains that have charm holder ends, however the bow shackle can it easily accommodate most standard lobster clasp closure chains as well with some creativity, giving a new life to old favorites

Safely paired with chains/ charms that have at least a 5mm wide opening/ chains marked charm holder ends.

all charms + chains available here pair well with the bow shackle

Some photos are taken on top of images from my grandfather in law- Robert de Gast's book "Oystermen of the Chesapeake". Robert's collection of work depicting the Eastern shore has been preserved by the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Learn more about Robert, and his work chronicling the Chesapeake during the heyday of our oyster industry at
